Oakley Park Elementary ASD paraeducator, Olivia Bennett, received a Golden Apple Award at the June 4, 2026 Board of Education meeting.

Bennett was nominated by fellow Oakley Park Elementary ASD paraeducator, Amanda Gossett, for her dedication and positivity that helps create a supportive, inclusive and student-centered environment where students feel encouraged to learn, grow, and succeed.

“Olivia plays an important role in building a classroom atmosphere where students feel welcomed, valued and supported each day,” said Gossett.

“One of Olivia’s greatest strengths is the consistency she brings to her work,” added Gossett. “She provides students with clear expectations, dependable routines and reliable follow-through that help create a sense of structure and stability.”

Bennett demonstrates tremendous flexibility and a willingness to embrace change.

“Olivia approaches new ideas and challenges with an open mind and is always willing to try different strategies and approaches to best support student needs,” concluded Gossett. “Olivia brings a positive attitude and strong work ethic to everything she does.
